UK Van Drivers May Face Tax Increase
Listen up, plumbing and heating engineers, it's time to buckle up- seems there will be a rough road ahead.
Proposed road changes and escalating fuel taxes has meant that prices at the pump have soared to an eye-watering 151.67p a litre for unleaded petrol and a baffling 155.23p a litre for diesel, according to the latest figures from the RAC.
Fuel card provider fuelGenie pointed out that the returns on fuel duty, road tax and the rise of electric vehicles mean that the way roads are paid for is subject to a significant increase over the next decade.
These proposed changes to road tax, which could potentially see a pay per mile road pricing system introduced on UK roads for all vehicles, could see van drivers subjected to double taxation. You must be having a laugh!
In addition to that, as we’re sure you’ve already heard, you could also be subject to city-wide Clean Air Zone rates at the same time!
But what the hell are these Clean Air Zone rates all about? Well, in a bid to improve air quality, some local authorities are introducing Clean Air Zones where you may have to pay a fee to drive in the zone.
Keep your eyes peeled on these rising costs, because if the information is to be believed, driving a van could become quite expensive in the very near future.
